Welcome to the Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. John of Rochester Church!  Members of this ministry use their time, treasure and talents to create shawls and lap blankets, fulfilling Christ’s teachings to comfort the sick and those who mourn through prayer and compassion for those in need. “Where two or more are gathered together in My Name, there am I with them.”

This ministry meets on the second Monday of each month, from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM in the Gathering Room.  The ministry does not meet during the month of July.  Completed shawls/blankets are blessed at the following weekend masses on a rotating basis.  At all other times, you may obtain a blessed shawl from either Judy Knab or Donna Stein.  Shawls can also be made at home without attending a meeting.

We are looking for new members.  If you do not know how to knit or crochet, we will gladly teach you.  If you prefer to make your shawls at home, please contact Judy (223-3434) or Donna (698-5014) to obtain important information for getting started.
